Sacramento River Rafting
3 Days

Raft, camp, and hike on California's largest river.

The Sacramento River offers beautiful primitive camping away from the crowds of busy campgrounds and provides the opportunity to escape and experience the north state as it was a hundred years ago.

We'll float through and camp in quintessential riparian oak woodland habitat on the traditional ancestral lands of the Yana and Nomlaki People.

The views are epic and include Mt Lassen on a clear day.

Typical wildlife observed include river otters, deer, bald eagles, ospreys, a myriad of duck species, white pelicans, salmon, and more.

ITINERARY

You will meet your guide(s) at Bend Boat ramp, approximately 10 miles north of Red Bluff at 1:00pm sharp on day 1 of your trip. Our shuttle will transport us approximately 10 minutes to our put-in where we will begin our journey down river.

After a couple hour scenic float we'll land at our peaceful campsite along the river which will be our home where we'll relax, hike and explore for the next 2 nights.

Your guides will prepare delicious meals (dietary restrictions can almost always be accommodated) and you'll have the chance to truly unwind and enjoy nature. Evenings will be complimented with the compulsory campfire weather and local conditions permitting.

Miles of scenic trails are accessible right from our camp! On day 2 our guides will lead a hike either upstream or down, or you may go out on your own hike. Or, relax and enjoy our riverside camp- the choice is yours.

On day 3, after a hearty breakfast, we'll break down camp and float the remaining few hours to our take-out and the end of our journey around 12:00pm on our final day.

NOT INCLUDED

Sleeping bags and pads are not included and may be rented if you do not have your own. Transportation to and from the take out is also not included.

CONSIDERATIONS

This is a mild float with no rapids. Participants do not need to be athletes to enjoy this trip, however will need to be able to walk on uneven terrain (over rocks, exposed roots etc) and sit comfortably in a raft without back support for a few hours.

Our campsite is primitive. There is generally an outhouse style facility available. Occasionally, we will camp where there is no established outhouse and we will bring a portable toilet.

All of our trips are participatory in nature and our team oriented approach facilitates logistics such as setting up and breaking down camp, loading/ unloading rafts etc. Our highly evolved systems make these processes quite easy and streamlined.

We will provide additional details, including a detailed packing list to help you prepare for your trip when you book with us and are here to help you in any way we can.
