Escape the heat, camp with other families without all the work, eat great meals, and make new friends. Celebrate our Nations 250th Anniversary on the coast!
MacKerricher State Park is one of our favorite camping locations and is a terrific family camping destination. Our campsite within the park is located a short walk from the beach and miles of beautiful coastline.
Activities include miles of uncrowded beaches, exploring tide pools, riding bikes along the coastal trail, train rides, fishing, whale watching, sea kayaking and more! This year Fort Bragg will host either fireworks or a drone light show TBD on the 4th.
Inflatable kayaks are included to float the small local lake located near our campsite.

Trip Overview
MacKerricher State Park, just north of Fort Bragg, encompasses miles of mostly undeveloped coastline. We'll camp a short walk to the beach where it is easy to find an uncrowded spot to relax, enjoy the ocean, and observe the local population of Pacific Harbor Seals, dolphins, whales, and shore birds that make this area their home.
Not far away are tide pools, the famous Glass Beach, and the Haul Road- a terrific bike and walking path that extends 5 miles to the town of Fort Bragg.
We Provide:
All top of the line camping equipment besides sleeping bags (may be rented)
All meals- hearty breakfasts, lunches, and multi-course dinners including snacks
Helpful and friendly staff to orchestrate all camp logistics
Inflatable kayaks

There is no electricity at the campsite. There is good cell reception at the campground.
Camp Manager(s)- You will meet our staff at the campsite. They will show you around, get you oriented to your surroundings and our camp set-up, and will provide you with your camp gear and instructions on how to use it. Make your self comfortable! They will work diligently throughout your trip to make sure that you are comfortable and having a great time!
Equipment- Our roomy 4-6 person tents are tall enough to stand in and comfortably accommodate 2-4 people. Our sleeping pads are thick and comfortable- some say as comfy as their bed at home. Each tent will include a solar powered lantern and small table. Basically, everything needed for a comfortable camping experience.
Our main camp also includes a complete kitchen set up allowing us to prepare terrific meals for the group, bug and shade shelters if necessary, camp chairs, hand washing stations, and more.
Meals- Our camping trips include all terrific meals beginning dinner day 1 to lunch day 4. Breakfasts include delicious organic coffee, eggs, potatoes, fruits, pancakes and the like. Our lunch buffet will be available each morning for you to pack a lunch and take with you for the day. Dinners are generally 3 courses including appetizers, a main course and desserts made in a dutch oven. Dietary restrictions can generally be accommodated. Each participant will fill out a questionnaire prior to their trip regarding food allergies and preferences and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Activities- Activities in MacKerricher State Park are plentiful. We are a short walk away from miles of uncrowded beach with seal haul outs and tide pools. Locally available activities include; horseback riding on the beach, sea kayaking, ocean fishing, whale watching, train rides, and more. "The Haul Road" a 10 mile walking and biking trail is near camp and can be used to access miles of secluded beaches as well as the town of Fort Bragg. Bring your bikes. We will also have inflatable kayaks available for your use on the local lake Cleone. There is so much to do!
All of our trips are participatory in nature with everyone casually contributing in small ways to camp logistics. For example setting up and taking down your tent, washing your own dish after meals, etc. Beyond these small contributions we'll take care of the rest. We have very well established systems (developed over 25 plus years conducting professionally guided camping trips) that make these "camp chores" simple, quick, and easy.
